To improve the quality of the work carried out by the Geography Department we have established links with other external agencies.

(a)We are members of the local branch of the Geographical Association and

as such we participate in the cycle of local Sixth Form lectures and

teacher training that is provided by the organisation.

(b)The school is a member of the St Albans and Haileybury Group and

consequently the Head of Department attends an annual meeting with

Heads of Geography from other Independent Schools. The relationships

developed at this meeting provide the perfect opportunity for informal

discussions throughout the course of the year.

(c)The Department is an educational member of both the Royal Geographical

Society and the Geographical Association and as such we have access to

  information developed by other establishments.

(d)The school has in the past developed links with BP and benefited from

  additional resources.

(e)We have contacts at Cambridge University who have in the past assisted

us with Investigative Study preparation and field trip support.
