Grafham Water

Grafham Water reservoir was established in the 1960's to provide drinking water for people in East Anglia and surrounding districts. The Nature Reserve, a site of special scientific interest, was created during the 1980's and recently we have found it to be a perfect location for the study of deciduous woodland ecosystems and succession in a simple hydrosere. In the past Year 12 students have benefitted from the experience but in the future we hope to enhance the Living World section of our Year 9 programme, taking the students for a similar set of fieldwork activities.
